Our Story

Hi, I'm Raani, pronounced "Ronnie." My husband and I bought our first pet rats over 20 years ago and discovered that they are the ideal small pets. Most of the breeding we have done has been in Texas, but we are now located in New Mexico. We are small hobbiest breeders and only keep a few rats at a time to ensure that they receive the proper attention. Our baby rats are handled often starting just a few days from birth so they are very different from the skittish rats often found in pet stores. Not only are my babies well socialized, but I feel that what sets me apart from most other breeders is my obsession with breeding for good respiratory health. Good genetics, ideal living conditions, and frequent handling are important components of our program which is based on years of careful research.
